Open by default

The reference implementation is open source.

The Open Source Snow Spec is an Apache 2.0 community standard for resort snow data — schema, reference MCP server, ingestion adapters, and client libraries. Fork, self-host, audit, or contribute. Snowdata runs the canonical hosted instance; the spec belongs to everyone.

  • · Resort snow report JSON schema (depth, 24h snow, lifts, surface)
  • · Reference MCP server and tool definitions
  • · Ingestion adapters (email, SMS, API, scrape, AI chat)
  • · Validation tooling and client libraries

Public GitHub repositories and opensourcesnow.com docs are rolling out with early partners. Until then, request the spec package or contribution guide from our team.
