Snowdata Answer Engine · Live

Grounded AI for ski snow and resorts.

Natural-language Q&A built on a verified evidence pack — snowfall, scores, season history, and operator FAQs. The model writes; Snowdata data decides.

Source of truth

The AI is a writer, not the source of truth.

Every answer is synthesized from a curated evidence pack: live Open-Meteo snapshots, SnowSure scores, 30-year season archives, SNOTEL ground truth, and resort-approved FAQs. If the data is not there, the engine says so — it does not invent cm amounts or scores.

How it works

Intent → evidence → answer.

Questions are routed to the right intelligence categories and resort scope. The engine assembles only verified cards and snapshots, then answers in the visitor's language.

  1. 01

    Route the question

Detect resort, region, hemisphere, and intent — live conditions, season norms, forecast trust, trip planning, or platform FAQs.

  2. 02

    Build the evidence pack

Pull insight cards, weather snapshots, season history, and approved FAQs. Simple leaderboard questions can skip the LLM entirely.

  3. 03

    Synthesize the answer

GPT writes only from evidence. Responses include confidence and query IDs for feedback. Approved corrections apply on the next ask.

Languages

Five languages supported.

Pass locale on POST /api/v1/ask, set data-lang on the JS embed, or rely on Accept-Language detection. Resort operators can author FAQs in English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian.

Operator learning

Gets smarter every week operators use it.

Snowdata Answer Engine learns continuously from every question. Resorts see the most frequent visitor questions in their admin dashboard.

  • ·Top questions and attribution logged per resort widget and partner.
  • ·Approve strong answers so they become canonical for the next visitor.
  • ·Add official FAQs in all five languages — improvements apply on the next ask.
  • ·Approved Q&A feeds periodic fine-tunes so the voice gets sharper over time.

Latency

About a second for simple facts.

Factual queries with deterministic evidence — fresh-snow leaders, open status, season calendar — answer in roughly one to two seconds without a full model call. Complex comparisons use GPT-4o-mini on the evidence pack only.

Why it is different

Built for snow, not generic chat.

Grounded, not hallucinated

Answers come from a verified evidence pack — not the model's imagination. If data is missing, the engine says so.

Built on the Snowdata stack

Seven weather models, 30-year history, SNOTEL ground truth, SnowSure scores. Not scraped marketing copy.

Resort white-label ready

Embed on your resort site. Visitor questions logged and attributed for monthly analytics.

Operator-approved learning

Resort admins approve answers and add FAQs in five languages. Improvements apply on the next ask.

Fast for site widgets

Simple factual queries answer in ~1–2 seconds without a full AI call.
